Join Hannah Moloney for this feature event of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Writers Festival!

Tour the Prout Community Gardens and rainforest followed by a Long-Table Lunch in the garden with ABC Gardening’s Hannah Moloney in conversation about her new community-based book Why We Garden.

Includes a delicious fully plant-based menu and refreshing drinks sourced from the gardens.

12.00pm – 1.00pm – Garden Tour (optional)

Join us for a guided tour through the Prout residents’ community gardens with more than one hundred fruit trees, abundant seasonal produce, worm and compost systems and rainforest. Learn about this living example of devotion to permaculture and deep commitment to soil health and regenerative growing.

1.00pm – 3.00pm

Meet in the Kazony Japanese-inspired gardens for a plant-based lunch served beside lily ponds and gentle waterfalls. The menu will include a selection of hot and cold dishes with produce harvested fresh from the garden.

After lunch, guests are welcome to wander through the yoga studio and surrounding Australian native gardens where vegetables, fruit and flowers are arranged in textured, colour-rich slopes.

Follow the signs up the long, gravel driveway where parking attendants will direct you to the locations.
