Ever wondered how to start creating a permaculture property and garden from scratch?
NERP toured Ruth’s amazingly productive townhouse balcony garden in early 2025, now join us on a tour of Ruth’s next big adventure, turning a rural acreage into a Permaculture paradise!
Ruth & Peter live on 20 acres at Watson’s Creek, on the top of a hill. They moved 12 months ago, with the view to becoming as self sufficient as possible: food, water & power.
Learn about Ruth’s assessments, plans and designs for her new property, then share lunch and a mini Permablitz-style working bee to help get Ruth’s new veggie patch ready for winter.
Ruth, an avid veggie gardener, has had soil testing done and a rough plan provided by Permaculture designer Kushala Prem from Sacred Garden.
They are about to install raised veggie beds and need some help rabbit-proofing the area and planting new fruit & nut trees, having lost most of their orchard to rabbits ring-barking the trees.
