Have you all heard about the Bega Circular Valley stuff?

Well someone who has is Costa Georgiadis and he’s coming down to the valley to see what all the fuss is about! Naturally, he wanted to see it in action. So he’s coming straight to where the action is – Grow the Future Bega. We thought – if we’re gonna show Costa around, we may as well get all our friends who are kicking goals in the sustainability/circularity space, throw the farm gates open, and welcome the whole community to check out Circularity in practice.

On May 11, from 9 am until 11 am, we’re partnering with our mates to put on a morning that explores circularity in practice at Grow the Future farm, 20 Auckland Street Bega.

The day will feature explorations in:

  • Social enterprise, regenerative growing, and nutrient cycling with Grow the Future
  • Seed Saving with Bega Valley Seed Savers
  • Native plant propagation, with Bega Local Aboriginal Land Council
  • Tree planting and Bush Regeneration with Bega River and Wetlands Landcare Group – BRAWL
  • Backyard Circularity with SCPA – South East Producers
  • Up-Cycled Clothing with O-Cycle and the Youth Social Justice Advocates Of The Sapphire Coast
  • Recycled Wood Work with Two Sheds Workshop Woodwork for women and kids
  • Special guest Costa Georgiadis.

As well as a bit of an immersive experience, the morning is also going to be a bit of a vibe with Coffee available by the Bega Local Aboriginal Land Council, Breakfast Food available by local cooks and music from local youth artists.

This is a free event, with all ages welcome.

Please wear closed-in shoes if you are coming down!

This event is part of a Costa regional tour that is being organised by Eat Dirt Permaculture, and is part of a Bega Circularity day, that includes events hosted by:

  • University of Wollongong-Bega
  • the Bega Circularity Coop, and
  • Bega Valley Business Activator.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.
