Use & Value Renewable Resources: Earth Building Workshop
with Megan Cooke | Permaculture Hunter

Join us for a hands-on afternoon exploring one of the core permaculture principles — Use & Value Renewable Resources — through the lens of natural building.

Hosted at Purple Pear Farm, this workshop invites you to slow down and connect with the materials beneath your feet.

With decades of experience, Megan Cooke will guide us through the beauty and practicality of building with earth. Together we’ll explore how local, low-impact materials can be used to create structures that are not only functional, but deeply connected to place.

This is a relaxed, practical session where you’ll:

  • learn the basics of earth building (think mud, hands, and curiosity)
  • explore how natural materials can replace high-impact ones
  • connect with others interested in sustainable living

No experience needed — just come ready to get your hands a little dirty.

Shared Dinner

After the workshop, we’ll gather for a simple shared meal at Purple Pear Farm.
Please bring a plate of food to share if you can, and something to sit on.

What to bring

  • Comfortable clothes (that can get a bit muddy)
  • Water bottle
  • A plate to share for dinner
  • Warm layers for the evening

About the Principle

Use & Value Renewable Resources reminds us to make the most of what nature provides — in ways that regenerate rather than deplete. Earth building is a beautiful example of this in action.
