You are invited to come to a wild edible mushroom hunt! Cool climate pine forests around Sydney are the place to forage – the delicacies found there are highly prized by the best Australian chefs.
Join a guided mushroom foraging tour with an experienced forager for a great opportunity to learn how to find, pick and process wild edible mushrooms.
We meet at Lidsdale State Forest beyond Lithgow and from there take a short drive deeper into a pine forests to harvest a precious nature’s gift – wild mushrooms.
You will learn how to identify and collect edible mushrooms, process them to cook a scrumptious lunch and see how to preserve the bounty. Your guide will teach you how to safely recognise and pick them, and will run a safety check of your basket.
