The Festival is a month-long program of permaculture-themed events and experiences organised by community members.
The Permaculture Festival is a month-long celebration and demonstration of permaculture, sustainability and the local food movement across South Australia. It will take place in April 2023 to complement the Australian Permaculture Convergence (APC) which is held at Mount Barker from 22- 24 April.
The events are open to the general public and are not restricted to conference delegates. It will be a wonderful opportunity to invite the public to visit and experience a diverse range of permaculture projects, businesses and events across the State over the month of April.
The Permaculture Festival will showcase the wide range of permaculture projects and activities that are happening place across the state and will broaden the experience for APC delegates as well as an opportunity for the general public to be exposed to the wonderful and diverse Permaculture happenings in SA
We’re looking for individuals and groups to host Permaculture Festival events. The Permaculture Festival events working group welcomes expressions of interest to hold a wide range of events. We are particularly keen to have activities and events both before and after Convergence (April 22-24).
These may include:
APC2023 is a collaborative effort of the whole national permaculture network.
Through the Permaculture Festival, we want to reach new audiences and extend the networks and make closer links between the many wonderful organisations and networks that are also working for ‘Earth Care, People Care and Fair Shares’, and also to expose new audiences to Permaculture. In addition we want to ensure that we learn as much as possible from the permaculture practitioners that will be joining us from around Australia and beyond.
The Permaculture Festival events will broaden the experience for APC delegates and showcase the wide range of permaculture activities taking place.
The Communications working group are developing an extensive strategy to ensure we reach far and wide with publicity. They will be coordinating efforts to raise the profile of all APC events on social media, blogs, radio, newspapers and magazines. Specific logos for the APC and Permaculture Festival have been developed and
publicity materials and templates will be available. Permaculture Festival event hosts and organisers will also help to let people know about the events, and if we work together this can massively increase our impact.
You will need public liability insurance. If this is a barrier, get in touch. We may be able to recommend an affordable option or connect you with a partner who can help.
