Description

The final permablitz of the spring season coincides with the International Permaculture Day. This is the 4th week in a row Istanbul is getting blitzed; Erenköy, Gürpınar and finally Burgazada (with a pre-blitz preparation the week before, then the actual blitz). This garden is also the 5th garden to be implemented since the start of Permablitz Istanbul in February 2011.

Our next aim is to blitz a terrace/balcony with wicking beds and such before closing off the season and start preparing by sizing up new gardens for the fall season.

Permablitz Istanbul

Our focus is to create edible & medicinal gardens while raising awareness about food sovereignty and biological diversity in an urban environment. We aim to get urban-neo-permies involved in soil and create opportunities to implement permaculture techniques whereby they can gain hands on experience and confidence. We also strive to use heirloom seeds in appropriate blitzes to help the survival of these precious seeds.
