Geelong Sustainability Group will auspice an event run by Ben and Kerryn Shaw at their home at 34 Sydenham Avenue, Manifold Heights starting at 10am - 2pm. Ben and his wife Kerryn have just returned from South America where they have been involved in a Permaculture project. Ben and Kerryn also have a very productive urban edible garden and Ben has designed and installed edible gardens for other people. In 2010 Ben did his PDC with Rick Coleman in Geelong. Both are passionate about sustainability and are transitioning to a low energy yet abundant lifestyle.

Here is the plan for the day:
Arrive at 9.50 for a 10.00 start. BYO mug and lunch to share for a pot luck lunch.
10-10.30 Perry Mills (who is a Landscape Architect, has been practicing permaculture for 20 years, has been integral in setting up and running Danawa Community Garden at Torquay and has a PDC) will present on What is Permaculture?
10.30 - 11.00 Morning tea using some local produce
11.00 - 12.30 Tour of the garden and hands-on activities in the garden ie pruning, green manuring
12.30 - 2.00 Images and stories from Ben and Kerryn of their overseas permaculture experience while everyone shares their BYO lunch and chats.
